Upcoming Cars, when we hear this word the first thing that comes to our mind are definitely the awesome speed, stunning looks and the powerful engine. With each passing year the global car market or should we say the auto sector has seen a tremendous growth. Especially Cars in India, the cars have set a new standard of luxury and style.
Today if we talk in general we all have a car in our house depending on our financial position. Rich people have high end luxury cars and normal people have small cars. But the common thing is the cars. Every year more and more auto companies come up with their new models in the market and this is same in the 2012. The year has just started and many auto companies like Skoda, Tata, Nissan, Ford, BMW has showcased their upcoming models in the Auto Expo 2012 (being held in Delhi).
Targeting especially the Indian markets and the Indian buyers most of the auto companies have bought up their future projects. Some of the most prominent cars that will be launched in 2012 are:
Skoda Rapid
The best example of luxury, comfort, modern science and latest technology,Skoda Rapid is one of the most anticipated model of the Skoda group. With spacious interiors and stunning exterior looks, Skoda Rapid is really a treat for the eyes. The Rapid comes in 2 variants, diesel and petrol with 1.6L and 4 cylinders engine specifications. This new age sedan is priced between RS 7-9 lac.
New Tata Safari Merlin
After new Tata Safari Dicor, Tata is going to launch its new SUV named Tata Safari Merlin in the Indian markets. The projector headlights, squared shaped grille and the new X2 platform are the latest addition to this SUV. Although the platform of the Merlin has been shortened to cope with the 2650mm wheelbase. The price range for Tata Merlin will start from RS 11 lac.
Audi Q3
Available in 4 engine variants Audi Q3 is the latest sensation in the Indian SUV market. The dashing sporty looks, compact interiors and the powerful engine are the plus point of the new Audi model. Even the 16-inch all alloy wheels fitted with 215/65 tires gives enough ground clearance to drive through any terrain. The price will start from RS 30 lac.
Ford Focus
One can call Ford Focus one of the most awaited model of Ford in the year 2012. Gorgeous looks, front wheel drive, great interiors all in together make Focus a luxury sedan in its category. The price range will be around Rs 12-14 lac.
Apart from these above mentioned cars, there are many other new models that will be launched in the year 2012, Like: Chevrolet Camaro, BMW X1, Chevrolet Sail, Maruti APV and Nissan NV200.
Renault Cars in India
Renault India, the French auto maker, offered three different cars in Indian automobile industry. The company has offered Renault Pulse in hatchback segment, Renault Fluence in premium sedan segment and Renault Koleos in sports utility vehicle. Renault in collaboration with Nissan India, the Japanese auto giant, opened up a manufacturing plant in Oragadam near Chennai. The company aims to increase localization and further enhances the production of vehicles at the Manufacturing unit. Last year company revealed its plans of launching five different cars in India by the end of 2012. In step forward company had offered three cars including Pulse hatch and all set to introduce its all new sports utility vehicle-Renault Duster in Indian car market. Here is the list of three Renault cars in India with all details.
Renault Pulse: Renault India had launched its much anticipated small hatchback Pulse at the 11th Indian Auto Expo 2012. Pulse was first unveiled at the occasion of first Indian Grand Prix. Pulse is available only in diesel guise. The two different variants of the hatchback are Renault Pulse RLX and Renault Pulse RXZ. The Base model RLX gets a price tag of Rs. 5.77 lakh and Rs. 6.25 Lakh for the top end RXZ model. Company also offers a unique warranty of 2+2 years or 80,000 kms on Pulse (whatever happens first). The Renault Pulse is powered by the 1.5 L DCi (K9K) diesel engine that develops 64 BHP of top output power at 4000 RPM and pumps out 160 Nm of peak torque at 2000 RPM. Car delivers an extravagant fuel efficiency of 23.8 km per liter.
Renault Fluence: The French auto makers made its entry in sedan segment of the country with the introduction of Renault Fluence. This car is available in both petrol and diesel versions. The two petrol variants comes affixed with a 2.0 L petrol power-mill that generates 101 kw/137 PS of top output power at 6000 RPM and pumps out 190 Nm of top torque at 3700 RPM. The diesel powered Fluence houses a 1461 cc diesel engine that delivers a peak output power of 78 kw/ 106 PS at 4000 RPM and churns out 240 Nm of peak torque at 2000 RPM. The base petrol model of the sedan is tagged at Rs. 12.99 lakh and the diesel Fluence is priced at Rs. 14.40 Lakh.
Renault Koleos: The French automaker also launched its second car Koleos SUV in Indian automobile industry. It is a combination of style and power as its 4x4 variant offer its user to drive it through any of the rugged area. It is only available in diesel guise- the 2.0 L diesel engine that belts out 150 hp of massive output power. The engine is mated with six speed automatic transmission gearbox that accelerates the sporty car to 100 Km/h in just 12.3 seconds.
BMW MINI Arrives in India
The iconic British brand Mini, fully owned by BMW subsidiary, recently made its debut in Indian automotive industry. Earlier BMW had plans to introduce Mini cars in India in 2009 but after observing the market conditions company changed its plans. Finally Mini made its debut in India at the grand event of 11th Indian Auto Expo 2012. The most awaited Mini drives in four different cars in India namely the Mini Cooper, Mini S hatchbacks, Cooper Countryman and Mini Cooper Convertible. These cars will come to India through completely built unit initially. Company will open its dealership outlets in India at present in capital city Delhi and Mumbai.
Mini tagged Cooper and Cooper S hatchbacks at Rs. 24.9 lakh and Rs. 27.9 lakh respectively. Cooper Countryman price in India is tagged at Rs. 31.99 lakh while Mini Convertible gets a price value of Rs. 29.99 lakh. The most happening moment for the company is that they already managed to extract 100 units of Mini car bookings. This figure will surely boost up company's future plans in India. Its closest competition, the Volkswagen Beetle tagged at Rs. 21 lakh had sold around 59 units in between April and December month of the current fiscal year.
Cooper, the lowest priced Mini car model, is powered by a 1598 cc petrol engine which is capable of generating peak output power of 122 horsepower at 6000 RPM and pumps out 160 Nm of top torque at 4250 RPM. However the Mini S engine belts out 184 horsepower of maximum output power at 5500 RPM and 240 Nm of top torque at 1600-5000 RPM. Both car engines comes linked with five speed automatic gearbox transmissions. Cooper hatch offers an impressive mileage of 10.3 km per liter in city roads and 15.6 kmpl on highways. On the other hand Mini Cooper S delivers a decent fuel economy of 9.3 km per liter in city roads and 13.6 kmpl on highways. Mini accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 10.4 seconds and remains stable at a top speed pf 197 km per hour. Whereas Cooper S attains 223 Kmph of top speed and crosses 100 Kmph mark in just 7.2 seconds.
Mini cars are also holds various safety features including ABS (Anti lock braking system) with CBC (Cornering brake control) which provides excellent braking system and avoid skidding during its runs on slippery roads. The EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) is also included in the car which balance the brake force between rear and front axle. Additionally it also includes brake assist system which further improve its braking system. It also includes driver and passengers Airbags along with side and head airbags which further minimizes the collision effects.
Not just Mini range of cars BMW had also offered its M5 luxurious saloon at the Auto Show. Company tagged this premium sedan at Rs. 95.9 lakh.
