Popular Uses for Car Stickers

Car stickers are a great solution for people who want to put a car sign on their vehicle but don't want to cover up a lot of space. Car window stickers come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can even be die-cut to match your logo or custom design. There are many different ways to use these vinyl stickers, a few of which are listed here:

  1. Family stickers - One very popular use for car stickers is the family sticker. These are stick figure images of the family to whom the vehicle belongs. They can be customized with Mom, Dad, boys, girls, dogs, cats, etc. Christian families often purchase fish family stickers using the Christian fish symbol to represent the family members.

  2. Alumni stickers - Alumni stickers are often given to (or purchased by) college alumni upon graduation. New graduates are proud to display their alumni status on their vehicle. This can be a great welcome gift for alumni associations, or even a great source of revenue if sold.

  3. Sports stickers - Another car decal that has gained popularity is the sports sticker. Proud parents love to display their child's name and favorite sport on their vehicle, and die-hard sports fans want to show support for their favorite team.

  4. Club stickers - Club stickers, like sports stickers, give parents the opportunity to support their student. Band, color guard, dance, martial arts, and other clubs often provide car stickers for their members. It's a great way to raise money for your club as all your members will want to have a sticker on their vehicle!

  5. Church stickers - Churches frequently order stickers for their congregation members. Not only does this build unity, it easily identifies church members and shows they are proud of their faith.

  6. Parking stickers - Parking passes are necessary for apartment complexes, large corporations, and public events. Ordering large-quantity car stickers is an affordable way to meet this need.

  7. Business stickers - Business stickers can be used to build awareness, promote the business, and, hopefully, reach new customers. Everyone loves giveaways, so consider ordering stickers for your business to give away at promotional events and trade shows.

These are just a few of the many popular uses for car stickers and car decals. There are honestly too many to mention in just one article! Whether you're designing your own car sign or using a standardized design, car stickers are sure to make an impact on your vehicle.

The Use of Car Stickers

When driving, it is almost a certainty that you will see at least one car with a sticker in the back window. These stickers can give quite an insight into the owner of the car, possibly telling us the driver's political affiliation, favourite football team, which radio station they listen to and even if they've got a 'baby on board'. The fact that fellow motorists notice these stickers and read what they say shows that they could be very effective means of advertising for businesses. There are a wide range of printing firms which can produce almost any design in several different forms of stickers from 'Self-Adhesive' to 'Window Cling' which could be used as advertisements for businesses to be stuck in car windows.

'Window Cling' stickers are typically attached to the interior of a glass surface. These stickers are attached to the glass using surface tension instead of using a layer of glue, meaning that there is no glue residue left behind on the surface of the glass when the stickers are peeled off (such as after a world cup or political campaign). 'Adhesive Vinyl' and 'White/Clear Self Adhesive Vinyl' stickers on the other hands are plastic PVC stickers which are highly durable and therefore can withstand outside conditions, giving them a very long life. The vinyl for these stickers comes in a variety of forms: permanent, removable and 'black back' for no 'show-through' of light or to not show what was underneath.

Car stickers are also available in the form of 'Livery' stickers with a 'crack back' for an easy-peel reverse, which allow them to stick to the metalwork of vehicles as an alternative to the traditional form of car stickers which are stuck to the rear window.

Top 5 Personal Uses For Car Stickers

Car stickers are an incredibly versatile product. They can range from large to small, be ordered in quantities from 1 to 1 million, and can be completely-customized to whatever design you choose. For this reason, many businesses order car stickers to promote their brand. Car stickers aren't just for businesses, though. Personal consumers can use car stickers as a modern-day bumper sticker that doesn't look quite as "tacky," and also doesn't damage the vehicle's paint (as most modern-day bumpers are actually painted as opposed to chrome or unfinished plastic). Here are some of the best personal uses for car stickers:

  1. Personal Cause Awareness- This is one of the most-common reasons stickers are purchased by individual consumers. Personal cause car stickers are often cut into the shape of a ribbon and printed in the color that has been assigned to that specific cause. Pink is for breast cancer awareness, yellow shows military support, etc. Ribbon stickers are a simple, tasteful way to support an important cause and help bring attention to it.

  2. Alumni Status-When you graduate from college, you want people to know about it. Lots of colleges provide (or at least sell) alumni stickers to their graduates, so they can display their new status on their car's window. Not only does this build camaraderie among alumni new and old, it also fosters networking. When one alumni sees another vehicle with the sticker of their alma mater, an instant relationship is formed.

  3. Humor-Sometimes car decals are ordered just because they're downright funny. Many companies offer a large variety of templates which contain humorous phrases or pictures, or you can always create your own design using your favorite anecdote. Humor can brighten anyone's day, so consider ordering a funny sticker to place on your window-you'll definitely get an appreciative honk or two!

  4. Family-Family stickers have gained popularity over the past few years, showing how many people are in the family to which the vehicle belongs. You'll see these families represented as stick figures, names, or even Christian fish. There are many options, and as the family continues to grow you can simply add another figure to the window.

  5. Organizations and Clubs-These personalized car signs show off one of the family member's involvement in a club, sport, organization, or activity. They can be a great fundraiser for non-profit groups like churches, little leagues, or scout troops, as parents love to show off their child's accomplishments.

What Are Car Stickers?

You can even have your car sticker custom made if there is a particular design you want and can't find. Simply show a picture or drawing of the design you want to the professional of your choice and he or she will let you know whether or not they can transform it into a car sticker.

Bugatti Veyron - A Driving Experience of a Lifetime

For many years the Mclaren F1 was the fastest road car in the world, but changes have been a foot over the last few years. The latest to challenge this top spot is the Bugatti Veyron. Made by Volkswagen this is likely to be the best driving experience from a road car you will get in your lifetime.

Ferdinand Piech the boss of VW came up with the idea of producing a car with 1000 horsepower that could do over 200mph, for those where money was no object. The outrageous price tag of £700,000 or approx $1,100,000, is only compounded by the fact it costs considerably more to make. Yes VW, will be loosing millions of dollars to sell this car, which is why the opinion is, that no other manufacturer would build a road car you could buy, that would match this performance and style.

Lets look at a few figures then:

1001, Horsepower!
14 radiators, Yes 14!!
$3,200 to make an indicator stalk!
Tyres specially developed by Michelin, $1800 each!
922lb of torque!
229 miles per hour or 370kph (believe it or not the normal configuration is restricted)

But tweak the engine and you can get:

253mph, which is 407.5mph
Ten seconds to stop from 250mph!
100ltr fuel tank that can be emptied at top speeds within 12 minutes!

This is a major achievement in engineering, especially from a manufacturer that does not have a background in Formula One like Mclaren and Ferrari and it makes you wonder what they could achieve if they were to enter that field.

The car also looks stunning. Without the badge, you would not be able to tell if it was Italian or German, but you would know it couldn't be anything else but these two. At certain angles it looks like a teardrop, with only its open grill that looks like a goldfish's open mouth to break that line. I fact if I had anything bad to say about the car it would be that I am not sure about this front grill. There are some that would say front grill gives it a "growl", maybe so. But to me the growl is too polite, it either shouldn't be there, and had kept more of its lines or it should have been a "roar"; after all this is the fastest road car in the world.

The aerofoil at the back, keeps this monster on the road, and automatically raises itself at certain high speeds, a bit of a give away if you are speeding down a motorway and the policeman following you knows you are breaking the speed limit for no other reason than your aerofoil is up. However the good news is there is no police car on earth going to catch you, the bad news is it wouldn't be hard to track down the owner. First, there isn't going to be many of these is any neighborhood and second even your Granny would turn her head to see one of these beauties driving down the road.

Used Ford Ka Vs Bugatti Veyron - And The Winner Is?

Aren't dreams great? Just this week, I've scored a hat-trick for Manchester United on my debut, married Holly Willoughby and played guitar with Metallica to 100,000 people. I'd be willing to bet that something amazing has happened to you this week too, (obviously not Holly, you bigamist) - we all love dreaming. I must admit however that as I reach the peak of my REM each night, the last thing I dream of is a used Ford Ka. I've fallen off pavements lots and buildings for that matter, but I've never found myself with both hands behind the wheel of a blue ovalled used Ford Ka.

With Ford priding themselves on making affordable, yet well-built, reliable cars, our car-loving sub-consciousness heads to 0-60 in 0.000005 second land. You see, owning a Ford isn't dream material, you can actually have one yourself and it's precisely because of that, we all wish we had something different. To put it another way, your boyfriend or girlfriend may be decent looking and nice company, but Johnny Depp or Cameron Diaz and their like would lead you astray in two seconds. It's the attraction of wanting something you can't have that is so appealing. Tell you what though, after Cameron's been in bathroom for 3 hours putting on layer ten of her make-up, you'll wish you had your old partner back to cook your dinner. In short, don't desire what you can't have, make sure you choose wisely what you can. The end...except I should probably tell you why I think the Ford Ka is (arguably!) better than the Bugatti Veyron I left Holly washing at Old Trafford.

The Ka I drove was, in short fabulous. Despite the design being 12 years old, it still looks very funky, hence the large influx of young females that carry them around in their handbags. The model I drove was a 2004 registration 'style' - one up from the bottom of the range and with body-coloured bumpers to distinguish this hierarchal advantage. Inside, my six foot and a bit frame had no trouble fitting in and my legs remained comfortably below my waist, rather than around my ears as first feared.

The dashboard was well laid out and the driving position was versatile enough to cope with my lanky arms. The highlight though, was Ford's pandering to my neon light fetish, with beautiful green light bathing the white speedometer dials. I was also pleasantly surprised with the engine the car had tucked away in front of me. All Ka's come with a nippy 1.3 litre engine and when you combine this with the car's diminutive proportions, 0-60 is achieved in 0.000005 seconds.

On my travels, I encountered all the obstacles and pitfalls you'd expect to find when driving around town: roundabouts, road-works and Reliant Robins. The Ka swiftly dealt with these with well-weighted steering and decent grip from it's titchy 13 inch wheels. Considering the Ka is essentially a bubble on these little wheels, the lack of body roll was arguably the car's most impressive achievement as I slipped in and out of boy racer mode. Boot space is atrocious mind. A quick stop at the corner shop will have your passenger holding the milk and groceries, as there is no room in the boot for a flea. Also the gearbox is a tad clunky on occasion, but these are minor issues in what is a truly superb car, that is head and shoulders above the competition. Besides, if you wanted a car with boot space, you'd buy a Volvo estate - or a hearse - if they are mutually exclusive.

The reason I drove a used Ford Ka rather than a sparkly new one is simple. If Ford are selling their cars so cheaply, then the build quality must suffer as a result too. By driving a four year old version, I wanted to see if the joints were creaking and a hip operation was required. As the above road test clarifies, Ford seem to have cracked the impossible - the ability to cheaply build a reliable car, that is fun to drive. The Ka can comfortably compete against the other rivals in it's class and stacks up very favourably - that's why they are so popular with so many people - owning a good, reasonable car is not the stuff of dreams.

So next time you are lusting after what you can't have remember this: you can have 333 of these fun cars for the price of my Bugatti and for that you get a cool little car that is so light on your wallet, you needn't dream of owning one. The boot is larger than the Bugatti's too.

How to Beat a Bugatti Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron...An engineering masterpiece. You will need a few things to be able to outpace this amazing piece of machinery.

Lose Some Weight:
The Bugatti Veyron has a gross weight of 4850 lbs. You would need a vehicle much lighter in comparison. Something in the neighborhood of about 4000 lbs. should do. After all you can't just expect to stuff more power into the engine and win. The car already has an insane powerplant....you can only do so much to get more power out of it.

Shrink:
This will help you out with the above mentioned requirement. The Bugatti Veyron has a height of 47.4 in. We should trim our vehicle down to about 45in even. This will reduce weight, lower the center of gravity, and increase stability around corners.

Power:
Even though you've lost the weight and lowed the center of gravity that is not enough to fly past the Veyron. Let go all out and add a 500 shot of nitrous to our beast. This way when we're neck and neck we can hit that little button and say good buy. Unfortunately, I think our imaginary car would be a "single race" car.

....Its a nice thought though.

Fun Fact:
The Bugatti Veyron was designed by Hartmut Warkuss, who was the chief designer, and Jozef Kaban, which designed the exterior. Bugatti named the car after French racing driver Pierre Veyron. The Veyron was introduced in 2005 as the fastest production car in the world, where it stands today, neck and neck with the SSC Ultimate Aero TT.

Bugatti Veyron F1

Bugatti Veyron F1

The Bugatti Veyron is by its nature a very expensive car. Now add to it a F1 license plate, which is also the most expensive one and you will get the ultimate machine. The two of them, together will be the stars at the MPH Show at London's Earls Court between 5-8 November. The lucky owner of this car is Afzal Kahn, who was kind enough to put it on display.

So, if by any chance you are in London at that time, check it out! You will also have the chance to see the Ferrari FXX, Lamborghini GT600 and Pagani Zonda R.

The world's most expensive Bugatti Veyron, complete with F1 number plate, will be a star attraction at this year's MPH Show featuring Top Gear Live at London's Earls Court between 5-8 November. If ever the phrase 'if you need to ask the price, you can't afford it' was appropriate it's now. But at the right price the car could be up for sale, according to owner Afzal Kahn.

He's hoping his soft white 253mph supercar could be the perfect choice for newly crowned Formula One champion Jenson Button since it features the most expensive number plate sold in the UK.

Capable of catapulting the driver to 100mph in 5.5 seconds this particular 1,010 BHP Bugatti Veyron has no close modern rivals in terms of price tags. But show goers can be sure, if rivals exist, they'll all be at MPH The Prestige and Performance Motor Show.

Already the ultra rare GTbyCITROEN, worth over £1 million, is scheduled to appear at the show alongside fire-breathing examples from Pagani and Koenigsegg. Rumours about the Ferrari FXX, Lamborghini GT600 and Pagani Zonda R making an appearance are also widespread.

Is A Bugatti Veyron Better Than A Pagani Zonda?

Is a Bugatti Veyron better than a Pagani Zonda? It depends what you mean by better. Sure it is faster and more expensive. In theory it is more exclusive, but in practice any of these exotic cars is so exclusive it does not matter. What about the Ferrari FXX - now that is so exclusive you can't drive it on the road.

If you want to accelerate faster than anyone else you don't need a Bugatti. There are other cheaper cars that do the job. The Ultima GTR is one, and the Caparo T1 will be another. Maybe the SSC Ultimate Aero TT is another.

The Bugatti Veyron gets to 100 mph in about 5.5 seconds - the actual figure varies according to who timed it. However, the Ultima GTR can reach 10 mph in 5.3 seconds which is blisteringly quick - that was timed independently.

The Pagani Zonda is not as quick as that, taking 2 seconds more than the Veyron to get to 124 mph (200 km/h).But believe me, for practical purposes there is very little difference between the performance of these cars. In real life, the difference is smaller because neither the Zonda nor Ultima have turbochargers, so when you press the accelerator you get instant response; with the Bugatti you will wait an instant for the turbos to cut in.

Sure, the Veyron looks and sounds different from other cars, and if you like the looks. well, go for it.

On the other hand if you want a car that accelerates, handles, is very fast, beautifully finished, and causes excitement wherever it goes you might go for a Pagani Zonda or another exotic car, like the Ascari KZ1 or Saleen S7. The Ultima is the world champion for out-and-out acceleration and braking.

All depends what you want it for. Me, I fancy a Pagani, although it is not the prettiest of cars, but it sure has fantastic presence on the road.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Making Waves Around The World

Volkswagen's Buggatti Automobiles S.A.S. has recently announced that by the end of February it would have delivered 60 Bugatti Veyron 16.4s. Such announcement has resulted to the over production of the Bugatti Veyron.

The production of the Bugatti Veyron was started in Alsatian Molshiem at the later part of 2005 while the very first delivery was made in March of 2006. It was also last year that the Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. has been able to produce 50 units. The interesting part about the Bugatti Veyron is the fact that it's an entirely new product and there are no existing Volkswagen parts like for instance a Volkswagen thermostats that is available for the Bugatti and yet orders are coming in at an amazing volume.

In December of 2003, Dr. Thomas Bscher, the newly appointed president of the company was given the responsibility of managing Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. Aside from Dr. Bscher, Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber was also appointed as technical director and manager of Bugatti Engineering. The whole Bugatti project was reassessed and a new schedule for the completion date of the super sports car was made.

The production of the Bugatti Veyron has been limited to a maximum of 300 units. The number of the first Bugatti produced only reached 50 units but today Bugatti was able to increase its annual production and hasten delivery time.

According to Dr. Thomas Bscher at the International Geneva Motor Show, "In 2007 we are planning to increase the production of the Bugatti Veyron, because the order entry for the Veyron is getting close to 140 and we wouldn't want our customers to have to wait longer for their Bugatti." He also added, "It is not expected that most of the orders come from the US; traditionally the most important market for luxury vehicles. 30% of the 140 contracts received up to now with a down payment of EUR 300, 000, which is the condition for the production of the vehicle to start, come from the United States. This means that that is where - on a country basis- up to now most of the Bugatti Veyron have been delivered."

The biggest volume of the orders in Europe comes from Germany and England which are two of the most important markets for luxury cars outside US. The Bugatti Veyron has also created interest in Middle Eastern countries and the deliveries made to Arab countries highlight the pleasant sales trend of this unique vehicle.

Bugatti Veyron - Most Expensive Car in the World

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 reigns as the world's most expensive car, created by the well renowned manufacturer of automobiles, Bugatti. With the company's long years of experience in this kind of industry, they have created masterpieces and they have become the epitome of a company with a great passion for automobiles. The company was founded by father and son, Ettore and Jean Bugatti in the year 1901. Together, they were able to create remarkable and extraordinary combinations of art and technology in the automotive industry.

At around $1.7 million, the car is by far the most expensive car in production at present with the closest competitor, the Ferarri Enzon, coming in at around $1 million. For the price of the Veyron you could purchase both the Enzon, and the third place contender, the Pagani Zonda C12 F, which comes in just over $700,000. This price tag is not for nothing though, as the technology in this car, as well as the design and comfort features are all top of the line, and beyond anything most people have seen to date.

The Veyron is a combination of high performance and elegance. This super sports car possesses the capability to travel at remarkable speeds and it undeniably resembles the elements of a classic Bugatti design with a contemporary touch.

Not only is it the most expensive car, but it is also the fastest production car on the road today. Its 1001 HP engine pushes it to its top speed of over 250 mph, which is faster than the 240 mph of the previous holder of the top spot - the McLaran F1.

Bugatti Veyron

Bugatti Veyron

Bugatti Veyron

One quickly runs out of superlatives when trying to describe the Bugatti Veyron. I'm not even sure if one should use the word "car" to refer to such a monster. Endowed with absolute power and a daunting maximum speed, the Veyron looks and sounds like it just came out of some impossible future inhabited by gigantic gas pumps.

50 years after Ettore Bugatti's death, Volkswagen used its magic wand to resurrect the legendary firm, and to say the least, the German carmaker did a mindblowing job.

Motorsports enthusiasts will instantly refer you to the mythical Bugatti Royale from the 1930s, a colossal and majestic masterpiece, sold at such a prohibitive price that only three people were able to afford to buy it at the time. The Royale turned out to be one of the most rare and prestigious automobiles of all times, but despite record-breaking performances, its endless and fairytale-like silhouette became above all a symbol of unequivocable luxury able to make any Rolls Royce look like your everyday sedan. Instead of trying to match the Royale's incredible legacy, re-Volkswagen decided to look for inspiration in Bugatti's racing history to design the Veyron, rightfully using the name of the famous driver who won at Le Mans in 1939 behind the wheel of a Bugatti Type 57.

We got to drive this exceptional vehicle for a few miles in the parking lot of a San Diego country club. It's easy to feel intimidated by this incredible machine, so we carefully and promptly handed it back to its official tutor, French race car driver PierHenri Raphanel.

The Veyron is unbeatable. Its wide and massive shape sets it aside from other supercars such as the sleek Mercedes McLaren SLR or the angular Ferrari Enzo. But the real thrill comes from the Veyron's unrivaled performances: with an engine delivering 1001 hp and a top speed neighboring 250 mph, the new Bugatti flies over the road like a rocket in the morning sky. The Veyron goes from 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds, which is no less than a second faster than a Ferrari Enzo. Pedal to the metal, you can reach 200 mph in little more than 15 seconds. This is a first in the field of street-legal vehicles, and you would have to steal a Champ Car to have a chance to catch up with the Veyron. To be frank, at the end of the day, I still wouldn't put a dollar on you.

Revolutionary techniques were involved in the making of this 21st Bugatti. In order to gather the 1001 horsepower needed to establish a new automotive legend, Volkswagen has designed an 8 liter W16 engine by mating two narrow-angle V8s. Peak torque is 922 lb/ft at 2200 rpm No less than four turbochargers garnish this frenzied powerhouse and engineers had to come up with a special seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to allow for all this wild energy to be transferred to the road. Needless to say, fuel efficiency was never an issue in the process, and you'll be delighted to learn that the Bugatti Veyron has given a new meaning to the term gas-guzzler by settling for a little more than 2 miles per gallon at top speed. In this configuration, the tank would go from full to empty in less than 12 minutes. All kinds of rumors are surrounding this unbelievable ride: pushing hard on this monster will make a set of tires last about 125 miles.

It took several years of trial and error to achieve the Bugatti Veyron's final version. Launched by flamboyant CEO Ferdinand Piëch in 1999, the project started with a prototype equipped with a W18 engine (three flatV6's side by side).

Soon, engineers realized they needed a more compact structure, and the W16 was adopted and installed in a mid-rear position. Fine tuning the beast was a long and difficult task, and many incidents occurred during the testing. A lack of stability at high speed even provoked an accident and the destruction of a prototype. In 2003, Piëch was replaced by Bernd Pischetsrieder at the helm of Volkswagen, and the new leadership took the project back to the drawing board. Under the supervision of engineer Wolfgang Shreiber, the Veyron became more stable and drivable. Gordon Murray, the famous and brilliant father of the astounding McLaren F1 of the early 90s who had in the past harshly criticized the Veyron initial concept and prototypes, was recently revealing his thoughts on the Bugatti's final version: "One really good thing, and I simply never expected this, is that it does change direction. It hardly feels its weight. Driving it on a circuit I expected a sack of cement, but you can really throw it at tight chicanes."

Only 300 Bugatti Veyrons will be made over the next five years. It will cost you no less than $1.5 million to get your hands on one of them, but apparently, Bugatti has already received 70 firm orders. In a classy move, Volkswagen moved Bugatti back to Ettore's original headquarters at Saint Jean Castle in Molsheim, Alsace, and the resurrected firm should even increase its production in 2006 to meet the demand. Believe it or not, all in all, the Veyron is a good bargain: its manufacturing costs far exceed its selling price. Following the steps of its respectable ancestors, this unique automobile is first and foremost a magnificent and decadent study announcing the end of an era. Stepping away from the cockpit of this unforgettable machine, lost in a state of denial, it was almost hard to keep in mind that the days of gasoline engines are numbered.

The Bugatti Veyron, Super Fast, Super Car

In the world of fast sports cars, there's fast, and there's ridiculously, crazy fast. The Bugatti Veyron is the latter. This exotic sports car is one of the smallest around, even smaller than the Porsche 911. But what this car lacks in size, it makes up for in shear power.

The Veyron has a top-end speed of 252-mph, making it the fastest production car in the world. Its W16 engine puts out an amazing 1,001 horsepower, which also makes it the most powerful. With a carbon fiber and aluminum body and frame to help reduce the car's weight, it checks in at 4,500 pounds - which is still surprisingly heavy for its size.

W16 refers to the Veyron 16.4 cylinder and turbocharger engine. This quad-turbo 8-liter monster is one of the most powerful engines ever constructed for an automobile. The "W" refers to the two narrow-angled Volkswagen V8s that are joined together. The Bugatti Veyron literally has two Corvette engines.

The car is all-wheel-drive (AWD) and operates like an F-1 car in terms of the 7-speed automated manual gearbox. Sitting in this car and pressing on the accelerator may be enough to cause serious injury unless you're properly secured. The Veyron is nothing to be played with.

It can go from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.5 seconds, and it runs the quarter mile in an amazing 10 seconds. With the top-speed mode engaged, a driver could top out at the amazing 252 mph in under a minute. However, as that speed is a dangerous prospect, Bugatti's production models are released with a speed max of 230 mph.

Surprisingly, the Bugatti Veyron is said to be a very easy car to drive. The wheel base on the sports car is massive, and thanks to the AWD, hairpin turns and other handling obstacles are that much easier. The car is said to not be so "knee-jerk" like other sports cars on the market.

If you're thinking that the Veyron is all-machine with no class, think again. The car is designed to be beautiful and elegant. The leather interior covers a plush seat, and the aluminum trim gives the car the look of a racecar, with the feel of a luxury automobile.

Drivers of the Veyron have testified to its handling capabilities. Once the car reaches 200 mph, the front end becomes light and starts to lift off of the ground. Even though the Veyron is beautifully designed to look more like a jet plane without the wings, the shear speed of the air from underneath the light front end will still cause it to list slightly.

One of the biggest accomplishments achieved by the Bugatti Veyron is its ability to handle (in this sense, meaning not going out of control) in a straight line at top speed. Some other fast cars of the world, like the McLaren F1, will spin out of control at 240 mph. The Veyron is a marvel of modern machinery.

Can You Afford to Own a Bugatti Veyron? Probably Not!

I remember my first look at the awesome Bugatti Veyron. It was on an episode of Top gear where Jeremy Clarkson drove the beast of a machine from Italy to the UK in a race against his co-hosts, Richard Hammond and James May who were doing the same route in a small passenger plane. After watching that episode and hearing all about the car, I thought to myself: "That would be an awesome car to own!" For this reason I own many Bugatti Veyron... Pics! It turns out however, that even if you can afford the enormous Bugatti Veyron price tag of the car, chances are you won't be able to afford to maintain it.

A recent comparison was done between the maintenance costs of a Bugatti compared to a small private jet. The results may surprise you:

If you manage to find a car dealer in your vicinity that actually has a Bugatti for sale, you could expect to pay about $2,128,230 for the car. Once you have plucked up the courage to pay for the car, you need to be prepared to pay for the service plan which will set you back about $20,000 a year. $20,000 for an annual service is almost 8 times the amount it would cost you to service a Ferrari Enzo. OUCH! The Bugatti uses tailor made tires which manufacturers advise you replace every 2500 miles. Replacing the tyres will set you back about $10 000 - EACH! That's $40 000 per set of tyres. The manufactures of the Bugatti Veyron (who clearly think money grows on trees) also advise that you replace the cars wheels every fourth tyre change to ensure optimal performance and safety. Not a problem, I'm all for safety. However, when wheels cost $60 000 to replace then I think I'd rather just take my chances with the ones I already have.

So now, if you take into account all of the above costs and add in the costs for insurance (I shudder at the thought) and fuel, your annual costs for owning this beast of a machine start to near the $300,000 mark. That is a lot of money.

Perhaps, you have a car dealer nearby and feel you can afford the above costs for the Bugatti Veyron because you like to travel in style. This is why we've compared it to costs for a private jet, I mean, what's more comfortable than travelling in a private jet?

I don't want to go in to too much detail about the costs of owning a private jet, but what I can tell you is that it will cost you about $200 000 a year for a medium sized private jet. This includes all maintenance costs, catering costs as well as paying someone to fly the thing. Value for money springs to mind in this instance.

A blogger from the Autocar blog stated that they had a client who owns a Bugatti Veyron as well as a private jet. However, when travelling long distances, the gentleman prefers to transport his Bugatti in the back of a trailer and fly himself to the specified location. The reason for this, it's simply cheaper to fly than to drive the Bugatti Veyron all that way. Case closed I say! I think I'll just stick to staring at my Bugatti Veyron Wallpaper.

The Bugatti Veyron - The World's Ultimate Supercar

In 1998 Volkswagen decided to resurrect the famous Bugatti name, and announced that their first new car, called the Veyron, would be the fastest production road car ever with a top speed that would eclipse the mighty Mclaren F1. To achieve that aim took over seven years of testing and development, and resulted in a critically acclaimed car that would cost over one million dollars.

The Veyron is named after a French Bugatti racing driver from the 1930's who went on to win the 1939 Le Mans in a 57C Bugatti. However, whilst the name of the car was set firmly in the past, Bugatti would have to push the limits and boundaries of automotive technology to achieve their aims.

In order to reach its 253mph top speed the Veyron is powered by a 8.3 litre W16 engine, the W configuration is achieved by joining two separate V8's together at the crankshaft. The resulting engine has a quoted power output of 1001PS or 987bhp, although it is an open secret that the real output is more likely to be around 1035bhp.

To contain the 1250NM of torque that the engine produced, Bugatti turned to the specialised gearbox manufacturer Ricardo in Great Britain, who came up with a seven speed, twin clutch direct shift gearbox controlled by paddles behind the steering wheel. The seamless shift system allows the Veyron to reach sixty in just 2.4 seconds.

Having designed an engine and gearbox that could take them to their planned top speed Bugatti needed to make sure the Veyron had suitable brakes and tyres to cope with extraordinary forces it could produce. Michelin produced the run-flat road tyres capable of surviving the 253 mph top speed, whilst silicon carbide reinforced carbon brakes and a huge rear spoiler, which acts as an airbrake above 124 mph, ensured that the Veyron could reach a standstill from 249 mph in just 10 seconds.

Inside the Veyron it is easy to see why this supercar weighs over 1.8 tons. It contains all the refinement you would expect in a luxury saloon, including exquisite leather trim for the seats and surrounds and bespoke aluminium controls for the car lights and sound system. The owner also a receives a special top speed key, which retracts the rear spoiler, closes the front air vents and lowers the ride height to 6.5 cm in preparation for a high speed run.

Externally the Veyron looks very similar to the early concept car, however much of its shape and form has been driven by the need to achieve high speed stability and cooling. In fact the Veyron has an incredible 10 radiators, which provide cooling for everything from the engine and transmission through to the hydraulic fluid that is used to raise the rear spoiler.

In every way the Veyron sets new standards for the ultimate supercar, and in these tough economic times it may be quite a while until will see those performance figures bettered.

Three Excellent Audio Finds For Everyone in 2011

With the iPod being one of the most used audio devices, the audio industry has created many ways to play you music from your MP3, not just inside your headphones. Car audio systems now allow you to hook up an Mp3 via stereo or in car kit in the car, whilst docking systems let you play your music in your home or on the go. Here's a selection of our Mp3 docking station favorites that will let you party to your music in your home.

For The Budget Minded

Our top docking station for those on a budget is the trendy Logic3 IPS006PK i-STATIONGO in a variety of fashionable colours, from outrageous pink to a bright forest green. Not only does this docking station look good for under £20, its compact nature makes it easy to move about from room to room or even outside (only on sunny days of course!). This small and nifty design also has amazing output for such a small docking station, thus you don't have to compromise on quality.

What we really love about this docking station is that you can securely connect up Mp3's, iPods and phones in two dynamic positions with the secure vertical and horizontal holding feature, enabling you to place you digital media device in the best position for you.

For The Kid In You

Ever thought docking stations look boring? Well the new design i-Ghost will never bore you with its spooky design. Its ghostly image will certainly add a little fun to your living room, as two speaker eyes pop out of the ghostly figure. Moreover, the i-Ghost was designed not just with style in mind, but quality and design. With a total of 3 speakers, the i-Ghost can achieve surround sound specifications at 360 degrees, enabling your music to flow through the entire room.

Unlike most lower end market iPod docks, with the i-Ghost you can connect it up to game consoles and other music sources, enabling you to play from various sources in your house. Thus it can easily be moved around the house using portable and non-potable music sources.

Our favourite touch to this spooky docking station is the humanized touch volume control and the remote control, allowing you to control the dock in various ways.

For The Music Connoisseur

If bass pumping music is what you want, look no further than Kicker (model IK350)- the experts in the audio field. The IK350 from Kicker docking station has everything you could possibly want, it hooks up iPods, additional media sources, computers, iPhones and satellite radio units.

Four inch woofers and 1/2 inch tweeters give the perfectly engineered Kicker IK350 the power and energy your music needs to play clearly and precisely. Whilst the 4.5 inch subwoofers work accurately on the production of bass, creating the high quality deep and dynamic sounds of bass which the audio experts are well known for. Power is no problem with this unit, as a specially created amp powers this dock, making sure the dock gets the power it needs, and no less or more.

We love the Kicker IK350 simply because it combines high end audio quality within a device that is movable (it has handles to move). It is also the most adaptable device as users can fine tune their music using the bass and treble fine-tune options - perfect options for the music connoisseur.

Narcissistic Wordsmith - Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road

At the tender age of sixteen I was introduced to a band called Rush. The Canadian trio filled my ears as well as my soul and to this day Rush still rocks my world. Unfortunately, after the tour to support their album, Test for Echo, ended on July 4, 1997, the band disappeared. Rumors spread that one of the trio had cancer while others heard they simply broke up.

In 2002 the explanation about the band's hiatus was finally revealed to the world and the truth was exposed. Neil Peart, Rush's King of Kings drummers, lost his nineteen-year-old daughter to a car accident on August 10, 1997 and his common-law wife went into a deep depression and died of cancer ten months later.

So, on a rainy, late summer morning on August 20, 1998, just two months after his wife's funeral, without any reason to carry on and having no interests in his work or his life, the drummer of drummers secured his home, revved up his BMW R1100GS motorcycle and rode down the driveway of what used to be a happy home. He didn't know where he was going, but he would let his bike lead the way.

For fourteen months, Neil ventured 55,000 miles of highways and byways from eastern Canada to the American west coast and Mexico. All the while, keeping a journal of everything he experienced.

When he finally placed the kickstand down on his bike in early autumn of 1999, he began piecing together the notes from his journal and titled the book to describe how he felt about himself. Thus, Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road was born.

This book will warm the hearts of Neil's long-time fans as well as anyone who wants to read a sad, yet uplifting story. While Neil details out the events of his travel, he sprinkles in the memories of his once-happy life. By the time you finish the book, the entire picture is before you-and you understand.

Neil divides his piece into two books: Book One is titled Riding the Healing Road, which specifically records every rain drop and winding turn he experiences on his journey. Book Two Homeward Angel, On The Fly is peppered with his reflection and his determination to look and move forward.

The author brings humor and intimacies into the book and allows the reader to watch the dissection of his spirit, his mind, heart, and his "little baby soul." Neil introduces us to his best friend, Brutus, and his alter ego, Ellwood, which is actually his middle name. We also become acquainted with Carrie Nuttall, the woman who was "... the answer to a prayer I hadn't dared to voice, or even dream" and on September 9, 2000 became his wife.

The only frustration I had with the book is the amount of unnecessary detail to ad nauseam. I found myself many times in frustration screaming "GET ON WITH IT" and would rifle through pages of description-overkill of a rock or how the wine tasted on his tongue.

Many words the author uses such as nadir, majordomo, euphoniously, gelid, and vicissitudes were so unfamiliar to me that I found myself looking to Webster for clarification. The extremity of pointless detail became so exhausting that it took me quite a while to get through the book. I found his writing style arrogant and vain.

I've labeled Neil a narcissistic wordsmith as I now realize how much he loves his words. It is very clear to me after reading this book and listening to his lyrics for the past thirty years that he wants his readers and listeners to know just how much he loves his words and how well he can put a plethora of complicated words together to invoke a simple meaning.

Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road, although frustrating and sometimes exhausting, is a must read for any Rush fan, rocker, or those who like a complicated read with a good ending. Delightful and fun, yet heartbreaking, this book will not only give you a new outlook on life, but will motivate you to buy a motorcycle and "Take off to the Great White North."

Chicago's Very Own Haunted Cemetery

It was a cool fall evening. The wind blew just enough to take what was left of the leaves and shuffle them around on the forest floor, creating an eerie sound throughout the woods. There was just enough moonlight shining through the clouds to show me what I was about to get myself into. Definitely the perfect weather to do some ghost hunting. I stood at the beginning of the path that used to be known as Bachelors Grove Road. Now it is the start of the trail that leads you through the woods to Bachelors Grove Cemetery.

For some reason that spot was somewhat of a threshold for me. Looking down this dark path I debated whether or not I really wanted to do this. Half of me really wanted to explore this haunted place that I had heard so much about and the other half thought it wasn't a very good idea to be wandering around in the woods in the middle of the night. As I tried to come to terms with my decision, I couldn't help but notice the loud noises coming from the direction of the cemetery. It almost sounded as if someone was hitting a tree with a baseball bat. To this day, I still couldn't tell you who or what made those noises that night. You could only imagine my thought process now. My adventurous side wanted to go even more and my timid side said its time to run.

That's about the time I noticed the headlights approaching slowly from Midlothian Turnpike. Was this the phantom car I had read about? Nope, not quite. It was the cops! They politely informed me that if I were to go any further down the trail, they would have to arrest me for trespassing. Needless to say, they made up my mind for me whether or not I was going to see the cemetery that night. So I headed back to the car with my tail between my legs and my pride a little hurt, but at least I lived to hunt another day.

That doesn't end my story about Bachelors Grove though. I was able to research this place on two separate occasions in the daytime. Don't think that just because it is light outside there won't be any paranormal activity. There have been hundreds of reports of activity occurring in the daytime. Case in point would be the infamous photo of the " Madonna of Bachelors Grove ". Google it! I personally believe this picture single handedly put Bachelors Grove in the upper echelon of paranormal activity. It is one of the best examples of a ghost caught on film, but Madonna isn't the only ghost in the cemetery. There have been reports of ghost houses, phantom cars and even a ghostly horse and buggy. Quite a resume for any haunted place.

I'd like to tell you I have encountered all these things first hand and you will definitely have an experience if you go there, but the truth is my results have been inconclusive. On two separate occasions I have failed to capture or feel anything supernatural, unless you count some strange sounds. I don't. That's not to say that I think Bachelors Grove is not haunted. Ghosts don't perform on command and it all depends on timing I suppose.

All in all, this is an awesome place to check out for all the lore and for the history of our early settlers as well. Just do it during the day so you don't get busted and for goodness sake don't vandalize. Come on really, I'm amazed I have to say it, but GROW UP!

Bachelors Grove Cemetery is located on 143rd St. (Midlothian Turnpike). Between Ridgeland and Central Ave., in Midlothian or Oak Forest depending on who you ask. Parking is located across the street from the entrance in the Rubio Woods Forest Preserve.

Ghosts That Interact With You

Interactive ghosts are so called because they always purposely make their presence known to people. They communicate with the physical world by sending messages, and often the spirit is seen only by the recipient of the message.

The ghost is usually well known to the person - either a relative or a friend - and might predict some imminent news, like a birth or a death. Such a message is relayed by the ghost actually speaking to the recipient, or by some other method such as making some kind of noise.

You might think that all this is solid proof that such ghosts really do exist, but the chance of such dreams or predictions really happening is actually much higher than you might think. For instance, many is the time that somebody has imagined a happy event - like a birth or an engagement - and if that person subsequently dreams of this event, only to be told the next day that you are about to become an uncle or aunt, does that necessarily make you feel that you have some kind of inherent psychic power? It could be attributed to just sheer coincidence. The chances could be quite high of any one person in a large town having a predictive dream on a particular day.

But there is a difference here in regard to interactive ghosts: they always appear to the witness while he or she is fully awake. This begs the question: why does the spirit choose to appear only to one particular person?

If you take the example of deathbed messages - which have been reported many times throughout history - you could say that these are the work of an interactive ghost. In such circumstances, the apparition appears only at the time of trauma, and not some time afterwards.

There have also been many cases, over the years, of out-of-the-body experiences. During such incidents, the person concerned has found their 'spirit' floating up towards the ceiling and looking down on their apparently lifeless body. The hospital files are full of such reports of patients who have "temporarily died." These experiences usually occur when the person is in a traumatic condition, such as being close to death. When the person's spirit returns to their body, they often describe, in stunningly accurate detail, everything that was happening around them - even things taking place in rooms next door.

The phantom hitchhiker is another type of interactive ghost. These entities usually haunt quiet country roads, and are often seen by motorists as they drive along late at night. Resurrection Mary, who is said to haunt the lonely country lanes near Chicago, is the most famous roadside ghost of all. Drivers have reported that when they have stopped the car to avoid hitting the figure, it then mysteriously vanishes. On other occasions, when the motorist has stopped to give the figure a lift, it suddenly disappears completely from out of the car. These spectral hitchhikers are therefore a classic example of interactive ghosts, as they respond to the observer in quite a physical, realistic way.
